7. As enjoyable as it can be, it just doesn't hold up to the period. While Empire of the Undead isn't a bad album (best they've done in a decade), you can't help but feel Kai and crew have stagnated to some degree. Gamma Ray fans definitely can't go wrong with this, but this feels just plain inferior to, say, Somewhere Out in Space.
